Laxman Acharya PadhyaandFelix Fietkau 3eb3ab6b43 wifi: mt76: mt7996: validate default EEPROM firmware size
The default EEPROM firmware is parsed and copied as a full EEPROM
without checking its length. A truncated file can make the driver
read beyond the firmware buffer during variant validation or the
fallback copy.

Reject files shorter than MT7996_EEPROM_SIZE before parsing or
copying the firmware.

StanleyYP WangandFelix Fietkau 8831fa78cb wifi: mt76: add external EEPROM support for mt799x chipsets
For the MT7992 and MT7990 chipsets, efuse mode is not supported because
there is insufficient space in the efuse to store the calibration data.
Therefore, an additional on-chip EEPROM is added to address this
limitation.

Felix Fietkau 33f29d2345 wifi: mt76: relicense to BSD-3-Clause-Clear
MediaTek has asked to switch from the ISC license to BSD-3-Clause-Clear,
in order to improve clarity and the legal integrity of the code.

The BSD-3-Clause license includes the "no endorsement" clause, which is
important for protecting the reputation of the original authors and
contributors by preventing unauthorized use of their names for endorsement
purposes.

This clause is absent in the BSD-2-Clause license, which is more permissive
but lacks this specific protection.

This change also cleans up the license of some Kconfig/Makefile files,
which were accidentally marked as GPL.

The GPL 2.0 remains in use on mt76x0, as well as two source files in mt7615
for which the license situation still needs to be clarified.

Rosen PenevandFelix Fietkau 9b770cb3da wifi: mt76: mt76_eeprom_override to int
mt76_eeprom_override has of_get_mac_address, which can return
-EPROBE_DEFER if the nvmem driver gets loaded after mt76 for some
reason.

Make sure this gets passed to probe so that nvmem mac overrides always
work.

Peter ChiuandFelix Fietkau bf22595a1d wifi: mt76: mt7996: fix invalid NSS setting when TX path differs from NSS
The maximum TX path and NSS may differ on a band. For example, one variant
of the MT7992 has 5 TX paths and 4 NSS on the 5 GHz band. To address this,
add orig_antenna_mask to record the maximum NSS and prevent setting an
invalid NSS in mt7996_set_antenna().

Shayne ChenandFelix Fietkau 63a4edf1cb wifi: mt76: mt7996: add macros for pci decive id
The chipset name (i.e., brand name) used by the driver may cause confusion
with the PCI device ID when adding support for new chipsets.

| Chipset name | PCI device id |
|--------------|----------------|
| 7996 | 0x7990, 0x7991 |
| 7992 | 0x7992, 0x799a |
| 7990 | 0x7993, 0x799b |

To prevent confusion, replace the code that directly uses the device ID
with macros. This is a preliminary patch to support mt7990 chipset.

The driver first supports Filogic 680 PCI device, which is a Wi-Fi 7
chipset supporting concurrent tri-band operation at 6 GHz, 5 GHz, and
2.4 GHz with 4x4 antennas on each band.

Currently, mt7996 only supports tri-band HE or older mode.
EHT mode and more variants of Filogic 680 support will be introduced
in further patches.
